linear momentum=mv

72km/hr equal to 20m/s

m×v=1000×20=20000kgm/s

Given :

  • Velocity / Speed of the car is 72 km/h .
  • Mass of Car is 1000 kg .

To Find :

  • Momentum of the car .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Velocity(v)=72\times\dfrac{5}{18}=20m/s}

\longmapsto\tt{Mass(m)=1000\:kg}

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Momentum(p)=mv}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{1000\times{20}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{20,000\:m/s}

So , The Momentum of the car is 20,000 m/s ...

Momentum :

Momentum is defined as product of mass and velocity of a body . It is denoted by p = mv where p is momentum , m is mass and v is velocity . Momentum is a scalur quantity . Physically momentum is defined as the amount of motion contained in a body . It tells us about the imapact of collision .
