Calculate no. of Hg atoms in 100 mL of Hg at STP (Hg = 200).​

Answer:

1 mole of Mercury(Hg) at STP = 22.4L

Therefore 100 ml ( 0.1L) of Mercury is (1/22.4)*0.1L = 0.0044.

We know that in 1 mole there is 6.022 × 10^23 molecules.

Hence,  for  0.0044 moles of mercury =0.0044*[6.022 × 10^23] molecules of mercury.

As there are 1 atoms in 1 molecule of mercury(Hg).  

Thus no. of atoms of mercury =0.026 x 10 ^23 atoms.
