Step 1: Given data

Number of moles of Cl_{2} gas=0.25 mol

Number of Cl_{2} molecules=?

Number of Cl atoms=?

Step 2: Calculating the number of  Cl_{2} molecules

Number of  Cl_{2} molecules=N_{A}\times Number of moles of Cl_{2}

Number of  Cl_{2} molecules is calculated as,

6.022\times 10^{23} \times 0.25=1.5055\times 10^{23} \ molecules

Step 3: Calculating the number of Cl atoms

Since, 1 molecule of Cl_{2} has 2Cl atoms,

Thus, 1.5055\times 10^{23} \ molecules of Cl_{2} will have,

1.5055\times 10^{23}\times 2=3.011\times 10^{23}\ atoms

Hence, the number of  Cl_{2} molecules and the number of Cl atoms is 1.5055\times 10^{23} \ molecules and 3.011\times 10^{23}\ atoms respectively.
