Answer :

  • Relative Molecular Mass of H₂O

➝ 1 ༝ 2 + 16

➝ 18

  • Since 18g of water contains 2g of hydrogen

∴ 100g of water contains 2/18 ༝ 100

➺ 11.1 g of Hydrogen.

✠ Therefore,

  • Hence, the hydrogen in water is 11.1%.

Solution :

Relative atomic mass of H₂O :

  • H = 1
  • O = 16

=> H₂O = 1 × 2 + 16 = 2 + 16 = 18g

As, 18g of H₂O contains 2g of hydrogen.

So, water contains 2/18 × 100% of hydrogen = 11.1%

Hence, The hydrogen in water is 11.1%.
