Given:-

  • Force , F = 50N

  • Area ,a = 2 cm²

To Find:-

  • Pressure acting on the surface ,P

Solution:-

Firstly we convert the area into m²

1m² = 10000cm²

4cm² = 4/10000 m² = 0.0004 m²

As we know that Pressure is defined as the force per unit area.

P = F/a

Substitute the value we get

→ P = 50/0.0004

→ P = 50×10000/4

→ P = 50 × 2500

→ P = 12500 Pa.

Therefore the pressure acting on the area is 12500 Pascal.
