solution:

Atomic mass of hydrogen is 1

And atomic mass of chlorine is 35.5

so, molecular mass is 35.5+1

= 36.5

No. Of Cl atoms-1

Atomic weight of hydrogen-1
Atomic weight of chlorine- 35( consider 35 because chlorine atoms with atomic mass 35 are present in abundance on earth)

Therefore, molecular weight of HCL- 1+35=36
