Explanation:

Two 4 Ω resistors are in series. Their net resistance is then 4Ω + 4Ω = 8 Ω

Now, the two 8 Ω resistors (the one we calculated and the other situated their) are in parallel. So, net resistance is (8 Ω)/2 = 4Ω
