Solution:-

Given:-

  • (i) Mass of body (m) = 0.5 kg

  • (ii) Force = 15.5N

  • (iii) Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10m/s²

Let:-

The frictional force be f.

Then:-

=> f = mg - ma

=> f = m (g - a)

=> 15.5 = 0.5 (10 - a)

=> 15.5 = 5 - 0.5a

=> 15.5 - 5 = -0.5a

=> 10.5/0.5 = -a

=> -21 = a

Therefore:-

Therefore acceleration will be 21 m/s².
