Acceleration of both trolley and block will be same. As we can consider,

fmax = 0.05 x 10 x 10

        = 5N < 30N

Therefore, block will go down.

30 - T = 30a ⇒ (i)

T - f(k) = 10a ⇒ (ii)

On solving (i) and (ii), we get

30 - f(k) = 20a

30 - 5 = 20a

a = 25 ÷ 20 m/s²

a = 1.25m/s²

T = 30 - 30a

  = 30 - 30 x (25/20)

T = -7.5N
