Calculate the amount of carbon dioxide that could be produced when
(i) 1 mole of carbon is burnt in air.
(ii) 1 mole of carbon is burnt in 16 g of dioxygen.
(iii) 2 moles of carbon are burnt in 16 g of dioxygen.​

Answer:

since carbon and oxygen combines in ratio 1:2 in CO2 respectively

(I) 1 mole carbon + 2 mole oxygen= 3 mole CO2

(II) 0.5 mole of Carbon will combine with 16g of Oxygen(1mole)

total mass=12g+16g= 28g CO2

(iii) same as(ii) 28g CO2
