1 mol of any gas contains 22.4 L
1 mol of CH4 weighs (12+4)= 16 g
so 2.24 L of CH4 will weigh 1.6 g

1 mole or 16 grams of CH₄

GIVEN

Volume of CH₄ present = 22.4 L at NTP

TO FIND

Amount of CH₄ present.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

We know that volume of 1 mole of any gas at NTP = 22.4L

Now,

Volume of CH₄ gas present at NTP = 22.4 L

Therefore,

Aqmount of CH₄ gas present = 1 mole

We know that,

1 mole of substance = Molar mass of the substance.

Molar mass of CH₄ = 12 + 4(1) = 16 grams

Hence, 1 mole or 16 grams of CH₄
