Answer:

The answer is 38.72 grams of CO2 is produced

Explanation:

firstly we have to convert 100g of ethane int moles and that is 100/30(molar mass of ethane)

=it comes 3.33 moles

and 50/32(molar mass of o2 gas)

=it comes 1.56 moles

The question is of limiting reagent, and here the limiting reagent is o2

so co2 formed is dependent in o2 so

7 moles of o2 gives 4 moles co2

so 1 mole o2 gives 4/7 moles co2

and 1.56 moles o2 gives 4/7 X 1.56 =0.88moles of co2 gas

and we know that no of moles x molar mass = mass (in grams)

so 0.88 X 44(molar mass of co2)=38.72 grams
