Given

1 A current flows through 1ohm resistance wire for 1 hours

To Find

Calculate the amount of heat energy

Solution

According to Jolues law of heating

(★) This law can be stated as the amount of heat produced in a conductor is

a) directly proportional to the square of current flowing through it

b) directly proportional to the resistance of the conductor

c) directly proportional to the time

Now

  • Current (I) = 1A
  • Resistance (R) = 1ohm
  • Time (t) = 1hrs = 60*60 = 3600sec
  • Heat produced (H) = ?

→ H = I²Rt

→ H = (1)² × 1 × 3600

→ H = 3600 Joules

Hence, the amount of heat produced is 3600 Joules
