Calculate the amount of heat produced in an electric heater of resistance 1000 ohms if 6 a current is passed throught it for 10 minutes.

solution : resistance of electric heater , R = 1000 ohms.

current through electric heater , I = 6A

time taken to pass current through it,t = 10 minute = 600 sec

we know,

amount of heat produced in electric heater = i²Rt

= (6A)² × 1000ohms × 600s

= 36 × 600000 J

= 21600000 J

= 2.16 × 10^7 J

hence, answer should be 2.16 × 10^7 J

Answer:

2.16×10^6 J

Explanation:

H=I^2Rt

I is the current

R is resistance

t is time

I^2=6^2=36 ampere

R=100 ohm

time=10 mins =600 secs

H=36×100×600

=2160000 joules(J)

=2.16×10^6 J
