Molarity= No. of moles of solute / Volume of SOLUTION (liters)

So for 250 mL of 2M HNO3 solution we require

(2 * 250)/1000 moles i.e. 0.5 moles.

Molar mass of HNO3 = 63 grams

So, mass of HNO3 required = 0.5 * 63

Which is equal to 31.5 grams.

Now we have to find volume of HNO3 solution required:-

70 grams of HNO3 will be present in 100 mL of its solution.

We just need 31.5 grams

So volume needed = (100/70) * 31.5 = 45 mL

Note - In the question it was asked about the mass of HNO3 solution but the percentage was given weight by volume. This is why I calculated volume of the solution required.
