when sodium reacts with cold water it forms sodium oxide and hydrogen gas

Na + H2O = NaO + H2

23 g Na reacts with water to give 2 g H

so 5g Na will give be x

23/5=2/x

x =2*5/23

x= 10/23

x= 0.434g
