Calculate the amount of Magnesium oxide formed when 45 g of magnesium is burnt in the air.

MAGNESIUM OXIDE = MgO2

mass of MAGNESIUM =24a.m.u

mass of OXYGEN =16a.m.u

ratio of their masses

MAGNESIUM:OXYGEN

24:16

3:2

AS WE KNOW 3X=45 {MASS RATIO OF MAGNESIUM)(/

X= 45/3 =15

SO OXYZEN 2X = 30

SO MgO2

45g + 2×30g

45+ 60= 105g

105 grams of MAGNESIUM OXIDE is produced when 45 g MAGNESIUM burnt in air
