Answer:

14.4g of h2o produced

Explanation:

1mole of methane produe 2 mole if h2o

therefore 0.8mole produces 2× 0.4 mole

ie. 0.8moles

amount of water produced is 0.8× 18 gms= 14.4gm

Answer:

14.4g of water is produced from combustion of 6.4g of methane

Explanation:

Combustion of methane :

CH4+2O2 ⟶CO2+2H2O

Given weight of methane =6.4g

Molecular weight of methane =16g

No. of moles of methane= given wt./molecular wt.

                                         =6.4/16

                                   =0.4 mole

From the reaction,

Amount of water produced by the combustion of 1 mole of methane = 2 moles

0.4mol of methane= (2/1)x0.4=0.8 mol

weight of 1 mole of water =18g

⇒ weight of 0.8 moles of water =0.8×18=14.4g

Since, the given weight of methane is 6.4 g, hence the water produced by the combustion of 6.4 g of methane is 14.4 g.
