Calculate the amount of water required to prepare 250 g of 5% solution of glucose by mass

given:
Mass of solute= x
Mass of solvent= y
Mass of solution= 250g

concentration Mass by mass= 5% = mass of solute/mass of solution*100

5=x/250 * 100
25*5 = 10x
x= 125/10
x= 12.5g

Mass of solvent=mass of solution - mass of solute
y=250-12.5
y= 237.5g

therefore 237.5 grams of water is required
