Sugar = Sucrose = C12 H22 O11. Molar mass = 342.
Water = H2O , Molar mass = 18
Assume that 2.5% sugar means percentage by weight.
In 500 gms of the sugar solution, there are 500*2.5/100 = 12.5 gms of sugar
So Amount of water = 500 - 12.5 = 487.5 gms
