Area of trapezium = 1/2(sum of parallel sides) × height

= 1/2 ( 5+3)×9

1/2×8×9

Now to find the area of the rectangle in the shape-

Area of the rectangle= length × breadth

= 2×5

=10 cm²

Total area of the shape = Area of trapezium+Area of rectangle

= 36cm²+10cm²

=46cm²
