Answer:

Given –

  • Length of the wire = 2 m.
  • Resistance = 25 ohm.
  • Resistivity of the material = 1.84 × 10^{-6} ohm m.

To Find –

  • Area of cross section.

Solution –

Formula : Resistance = Resistivity* l/A

Hence, A = Resistivity * l/Resistance

➸ A = rho*l/R

Substituting the values,

➸ A = 1.84 × 10^{-6} * 2/25

➸ A = 1.84 × 10^{-6} * 1/12.5

➸ A = 184 × 10^{-6} × 10/125 × 100

➸ A = 184 × 10^{-6}/125 × 10

➸ A = 1.472 × 10^{-6}/10

➸ A = 1.472 × 10^{-6-1}

➸ A = 1.472 × 10^{-7}

Hence, Area of cross section of the wire is 1.472 × 10^{-7} m².
