sooryanarayanan18: No bro,,, he is correct
sooryanarayanan18: I mean,,, he did not complete the answer,,, there is one more step,,, he has to reduce 14.28 from the whole area of the square

Answer:

area of the shaded region is 145.92 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

refer to the image attached

side of square = 16 cm

ABQD forms a sector with radius 16cm and angle 90°

area of DBQ = Area of sector ABQD - Area of triangle ADB

area of sector = \frac{\theta \ \pi \ r^{2} }{360}

area of sector ABD = \frac{90(3.14)16^{2} }{360}

                           = 200.96 cm²

area of triangle ADB = \frac{1(bh)}{2}

                                     = \frac{16*16}{2} = 128 cm²

area of shaded region DBQ = 200.96-128  = 72.96 cm²

area of shaded region DBQ = area of shaded region DBP

total area of the shaded region = 72.96×2

                                                     = 145.92 cm²

hence, area of the shaded region is 145.92 cm²
