Length of side square = 38 cm

Area of square side x side

= 38 x 38

= 1444 cm²

Now, in the given figure there are four right triangles with base and height 19 cm each.

Area of one right triangle= 1/2 x base x height.

= 1/2 x 19 x 19

= 361/2

= 180.5 cm²

.: Area of four right triangles. = 4 x 180.5

= 722 cm²

Now, area of shaded region area of square

= area of four right triangles.

= 1444 - 722

= 722 cm².
