Area of shaded region is equal to the whole area minus ther area of triangle.

area of rectangle is 14×32= 448cmsq

area of triangle = 1/2×22×14

= 154cmsq

Area of shaded region is 448-154

= 294cmsq

ANSWER:-

294cm²

STEP BY STEP EXPLAINATION:-

Before moving towards the question,lets revise few things.

area \: of \: triangle =  \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height

also,

area \: of \: rectangle = length \times breadth

So,

here,

CONCEPT:-

The concept is very simple,

find the area of complete body and deduct the area of unwanted piece.

i.e, triangle in this case.

SOLUTION:-

area of rectangle=lxb

=> 32x14

=>448cm²

area of triangle

 \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height \\  =  >  \frac{1}{2}   \times 22 \times 14 \\  =  > 11 \times 14 \\  =  > 154 {cm}^{2}

now,

area of shaded region = area of rectangle-area of triangle

which is,

448cm²-154cm²

=>294cm²
