Given :

Length of parallel sides of a trapezium are p = 45cm, q = 32cm and distance between them is h=11cm.

To FinD :

The area of the Trapezium.

Solution :

Analysis :

Here the formula of area of trapezium is used. By using the required formula and substituting the required values we can find the area.

Required Formula :

Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × (a + b) × d

where,

  • a is first parallel side
  • b is second parallel side
  • d is between the parallel sides

Explanation :

We know that if we are provided with the two parallel sides and the distance between them then our required for is,

Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × (a + b) × d

where,

  • a = 45 cm
  • b = 32 cm
  • d = 11 cm

Using the required formula and substituting the required values,

⇒ Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × (a + b) × d

⇒ Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × (45 + 32) × 11

⇒ Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × 77 × 11

⇒ Area of Trapezium = 1/2 × 847

⇒ Area of Trapezium = 847/2

⇒ Area of Trapezium = 423.5

Area of trapezium = 423.5 cm².

Area of trapezium is 423.5 cm².

GivEn:

  • Length of first parallel side = 45cm
  • Length of second parallel side = 32cm
  • Distance between them ( height) = 11cm

To finD:

  • Area of trapezium from the given measurements.

Solution:

We have given that length of parallel sides and distance between them (height) are 45cm, 32cm and 11cm respectively . Using a formula to find it area :-

Formula using :-

  • Area of trapezium = \large{\bf{ \frac{a + b}{2}  \times h}}

Where, :

  • a = one parallel side => 45cm •••••(given)
  • b = another parallel side => 32cm •••••(given)
  • h = Height => 11cm ••••• (given)

Now,

Substitute the values in given formula to find area :-

Substituting values in formula :

Area of trapezium = \small{\sf{ \frac{a + b}{2}  \times h}}

=> \small{\sf{\frac{45+32}{2}\times 11}}

=> \small{\sf{\frac{77}{2}\times 11}}

=> \small{\sf{ \frac{847}{2} }}

=> \small{\sf{ 423.5cm²}}

Our Required answer :-

\large{\mathcal{\boxed{\blue{ Area~of~trapezium~=\: 423.5cm²}}}}
