Consider moles of H2 and CH4 be n

Mass = Molar mass × No of moles

H2 = 2n

CH4 = 16n

AMM = Total Mass ÷ Total no of moles

= ( 2n + 16n ) ÷ ( n + n )

= 18n ÷ 2n

= 9
