We know that the Kinetic energy formula is 1/2mvv where m=mass and v = velocity.

But here in the given the kinetic energy is halved. Hence v = v/2.

Therefore the kinetic energy = 1/2 x m x v/2 x v/2 = m x v x v/8 = mvv/8.

Therefore the kinetic energy of an object when its velocity is halved = mvv/8.

Hence its proved
