Answer:

L =( g*T^2) / (4 * pi^2). Substituting the value for g = 9.8 m s^-2, and T = 1.5 s, I get for the pendulum length L = 0.56 m.

Given,

  • Length of the

simple pendulum = L1 = 1m

  • Time = T1 = 2s

  • Time = T2 = 1.5s

To Find:-

Change in length.

Formula used:-

T \propto \sqrt{L}

Calculations:-

\frac{T1}{T2} = \sqrt{\frac{L1}{L2}}

squaring on both sides,

\frac{T1}{T2}^{2}= \frac{L1}{L2}

L2 = L1 ×\frac{T1}{T2}^{2}

L2 =1×\frac{1.5}{2}^{2}

=0.5625m

Change in the length of a simple pendulum ,

\delta{L} = L1 - L2

=1-0.5625

=0.4375m
