Amount of NaCl = 40g
Amount of Solvent = 250g

concentration of solution = {amount of solute / (mass of solution)} × 100

= (40)/(250+40) ×100
= 40/ 290 × 100
= 13.79 %

Answer: Mass of sodium chloride (Solute) = 40gm

Mass of water (solvent) = 250 gm

Mass of solution = 40+250 = 290gm

Concentration = (Mass of Solute / Mass of Solution) * 100

Concentration = (40/290)*100 = 13.79%

Concentration of solution is 13.79%.

Hope it helps you buddy...
