Let least count be 1 mm =0.1 cm

Vernier Scale Reading = 0.1 * 4 cm

= 0.4 cm

Positive Error =0.05 cm

Total Reading =8 cm +0.4 cm-0.05 cm

= 8.35 cm

Answer:

The correct answer of this question is 8. 35 cm

Explanation:

Given -  The main scale reading is 8 cm, vernier coincidence is 4 and positive zero error is 0.05 cm.

To Find - Calculate the correct reading the main scale reading is 8 cm, vernier coincidence is 4 and positive zero error is 0.05 cm.

The Vernier coincidence is a division on the Vernier scale that corresponds to a division on the Vernier caliper's main scale. The Vernier coincidence occurs when the 5th division on the Vernier scale corresponds with the 1.6 on the main scale.

Let least count be 1 mm = 0.1 cm

Vernier Scale Reading = 0.1 × 4 cm = 0.4 cm

Positive Error is = 0.05 cm

Total Reading =  8 cm + 0.4 cm  - 0.05 cm

= 8.35 cm
