Calculate the degree of dissociation of acetic acid if its molar conductivity is 39.05 Scm2mol-1. Given limiting molar conductivity of H+ = 349.6 Scm2mol-1 and that of CH3COO- = 40.9Scm2mol-1.

Answer:

The degree of dissociation is give by :-

α = Λm / Λo

given :-

➡ λ0H+ = 349.6 S cm2mol-1

➡ λ0(CH3COO-) = 40.9 S cm2mol-1

now.....,

➡ λ0CH3COOH = 349.6 + 40.9 = 390.5

degree of dissociation (α) is:

39.05 / 390.5

0.1

___ hope it help. ✌️
