Calculate the den density of a solid from the following data mass of the given solid is equal to 84.2 gram initial volume of water in a graduated cylinder is equal to 36 ml and final volume of water and solid in the graduated cylinder is equal to 60 ml

density=mass/volume

since the volume of solid will be equal to volume of displaced fluid,

volume=60-36=24ml

density=84.2/24

=3.50g/ml
