Calculate the density of a liquid in a beaker. The beaker has a mass of 15 grams when empty. The beaker plus an unknown liquid has a mass of 53 grams. What is the density of the liquid if its volume is 10 mL?

Given,

Volume of liquid (V) = 10 mL

Beaker mass = 15 g

Beaker mass with liquid = 53 g

Mass of liquid (m) = (53-15) g

= 38 g

Density = m/V

= 38/10 g/mL

= 3.8 g/mL
