Calculate the dimension of a cube from the given data of readings using a vernier callipers.
In the main scale 1 cm is divided into 20 parts.
Number of divisions on the vernier scale 25; Zero error = -0.016 cm
When the cube is held between the jaws, the position of the zero of the vernier callipers is between 2.75 cm
and 2.8 cm and the coinciding division of vernier callipers is 9th.

Answer:

Zero error = 0.5 mm = 0.05 cm

Observed reading of cylinder diameter - 3.1 cm + (4) (0.01 cm).

= 3.14 cm

Actual thickness of cylinder = (3.14) - (0.05).

= 3.09 cm
