Calculate the distance between the points A (-3, 1) and B on
Y-axis whose ordinate is 5.

IT'S GIVEN, A = (-3,1)

B = (0,5)

DISTANCE B/W 2 POINTS =

 \sqrt{x2 - x1) {}^{2} + (y2 - y1) {}^{2}  }

 =  \sqrt{(0 + 3) {}^{2} + (5 - 1) {}^{2}  }

 =  \sqrt{9 + 16}

 =  \sqrt{25}

 = 5.
