(a) (7,-24) , (b) (3,-4)​

If (x,y) be any coordinate in the plane, then distance of this point from origin (0,0) is given by

 \sqrt{ {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2}  }

so

(a) Distance of (7,-24) from (0,0) is

 \sqrt{ {7}^{2}  +  {( - 24)}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{49 + 576}  \\  =  \sqrt{625}  \\  = 25

so

(a) Distance of (3,-4) from (0,0) is

 \sqrt{ {3}^{2}  +  {( - 4)}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{9 + 16}  \\  =  \sqrt{25}  \\  = 5
