Between points A and B the resistance are in two ways i.e. In Parallel Combination and in Series combination. So at first we will find the resistance in parallel combination then we will find in series combined.

In Parallel Combination,

\dfrac{1}{{R}_{P}} = (\dfrac{1}{12} + \dfrac{1}{6} + \dfrac{1}{4}  )\: ohm

\dfrac{1}{{R}_{P}} = \dfrac{6}{12} \:

{R}_{P} = 2 \:  Ohm

Now in Series Combination,

{R}_{S} = {R}_{1} + {R}_{P} + {R}_{3}

{R}_{S} = (2 + 2 + 5)  \: Ohm

{R}_{S} = 9  \:  \: Ohm

Hence, the effective resistance between point A and B = Rs = 9 Ohm.
