Answer:

Given =cross sectional area = 2mm²

           current = 1A

           conductivity of copper =  6.25x10^7 S/m

to find = electric feild

solution =

ρ = 1/ σ = 1 / 6.25 x 10⁷= 1.6 x 10⁻⁸

R = ρ l/A = 1.6 x 10⁻⁸ / 2.0 x 10⁻⁶ = 8 x 10⁻³

V = IR = 1 x 8 x 10⁻³ l = 8x 10⁻³ 1 x 8 x 10⁻³ l = 8 x 10⁻³

E= V /l = 8x10⁻³Vm⁻¹

electric field in a copper is  8x10⁻³Vm⁻¹
