a.Total cost of electricity=power rating(in KWh)×time (in hrs)×no. of devices×cost per 1 unit×no. of days
=> Cost=0.4×6×3×2.5×31
=0.72×2.5×31
= Rs. 55.80

b.Cost=0.05×4×8×2.5×31
=Rs. 124.0

NOTE
Same equation is used in the questions a and b.

Bulbs = 40 * 3 = 120 watts
= 0.12 kW
Electrical units for one day = 0.12 * 6
= 0.72 units
Electrical units for 31 days = 0.72 * 31 = 22.32 units

Tube lights = 50 * 4 = 200 watts
= 0.2kW
Electrical units for one day = 0.2 * 8
= 1.6 units
Electrical units for 31 days = 1.6 * 31 = 49.6 units

Total units = 49.6 + 22.32
= 71.92 units

Electricity bill = 71.92 * 2.50
= ₹179.8
