devices are used as specified, 3 bulbs of 40 W for 6 hours per day, 4 tube lights

of 50 W for 8 hours per day and a TV of 120 W for 6 hours per day. Given the

rate of electricity is ₹ 2.50 per unit.

The probable answer might be —

Energy used by light bulbs in one day= 40w*5*4= 0.8 kwh

Energy used by tube lights in one day= 60w*5*4=1.2 kwh

Energy used by TV in one day= 100w*6= 0.6 kwh

Energy used by washing machine in one day= 400w*3= 1.2 kwh

So, total energy used in one day= 0.8+0.6+1.2+1.2= 3.8 kwh

Total energy used in 30 days (April has 30 days) = 3.8*30= 114 kwh

Now, 1 kwh= 1 unit

And, Cost per unit= Rs. 1.8

Therefore, the bill for the entire month = 114*1.8= Rs. 205.2

Thank you

Answer:3 bulbs

×

30 watts

×

5 hours

×

31 days = 13950 watt/hour

4 tubes

×

50 watts

×

8 hours

×

31 days = 49600 watt/hour

1 fridge

×

300 watts

×

24 hours

×

31 days = 223200 watt/hour

Therefore, the total energy consumption is given by,

13950+49600+223200 = 286750 watt/hour = 286.75 KWh

We need to convert it into units, where 1 unit = 1 kWh

So, electricity bill = 288.75 units

×

2 rs = Rs. 573.5.
