Answer:

energy consume by bulb = power × time

= 40w watts × 5 hour

= 200watts

= 200 watts × 4 bulb

= 800 watts

= 0.8 unit

energy consume by tube light = power × time

= 60w × 5 hours

= 300watts

= 300 watts × 4 tube lights

= 1200 watts

= 1.2 unit

energy consume by T.V. = power × time

= 100w × 6 hours

= 600 watts

= 0.6 unit

energy consume by washing machine = power × time

= 400watts × 3 hour

= 1200 watts

= 1.2 units

sum of all units = 0.8+1.2+0.6+1.2 = 3.8 unit for a day

for 30 days = 30× 3.8

= 114 units

now , each unit costs ₹4 per unit = ₹4× 114unit

= ₹ 456 for a month

Answer:

Energy used by light bulbs in one day

= 40w x 5 x 4 = 0.8 kwh

Energy used by tube lights in one day

= 60w x 5 x 4 = 1.2 kwh

Energy used by TV in one day

= 100w x 6 = 0.6 kwh

Energy used by washing machine in one day

= 400w x 3 = 1.2 kwh

So, total energy used in one day

= 0.8 + 0.6 + 1.2 + 1.2 = 3.8 kwh

Total energy used in 30 days (April has 30 days)

= 3.8 x 30 = 114 kwh

Now, 1 kwh = 1 unit

Cost per unit = Rs.1.8

\impliesTherefore, the bill for the entire month = 114 x 1.8= Rs. 205.2
