Given:-

  • A electrical appliance has a resistance of 4Ω .
  • A current of 4A flows through it .
  • Time of current flow is 20 minutes.

To Find:-

  • The energy consumed by the electrical appliance.

Formula Used:-

We can calculate energy consumed using ,

\large{\underline{\boxed{\green{\bf{\dag Energy\:\:=\:\:I^2Rt }}}}}

Where ,

  • I is the current.
  • R is the resistance.
  • t is the time of flow .

Calculation:-

Here ,

➤ Current flown = 4A .

➤ Resistance if the appliance = 4Ω.

➤ Time for which current flows = 20 min.

Firstly we must convert time into SI units .

➥ 20 min = 20 × 60s = 1200s .

On putting the respective values in the above formula stated , we have ,

\tt :\implies Energy = I^2Rt

\tt :\implies  Energy = (4A)^2\times 4\Omega\times 1200s

\tt :\implies  Energy = 16A^2\times4\Omega\times1200s

\tt :\implies Energy = 76800\:Joules

\underline{\boxed{\pink{\tt{\longmapsto Energy = 7.68\times 10^4\: Joules}}}}

\underline{\tt{\purple{\leadsto Hence\:the\: energy\:consumed\:is\:7.68\times10^4\:Joules.}}}
