Calculate the energy in the following fusion reaction:

H₁² + H₁² → He₂³ + n,
Binding energies of H₁² = 2.22 Mev. and of ₂H³ = 7.72 MeV .

Hi sir,

Total binding energy of 1H²= 2.22MeV

For reactant side,

Binding energy= 2×2.22

B.E= 4.44MeV

For product side,

2He³= 7.72MeV

Energy of the nucleus= product- reactant

Energy= 7.72-4.44

Energy of the nucleus= 3.28 MeV
