Radius of the second orbit is 2.116 × 10`10 m

Energy of the nth orbit = En = k.z²/n²

where k = 2.179 × 10`18J

The energy of an electron in second orbit of the hydrogen atom -

n = 2, Z=1

En = 2.179 × 10`18J ( 1 )²/( 2 )²

= 5.447 × 10`²² J

Radius of the nth orbit = n²/Z × α

= 5.292 × 10`11 J

Thus, the radius of second orbit -

= ( 2 )²/1 × 5.292 × 10`11 J

= 2.116 × 10`10m
