Clarify

  • The sum of current present individual in a branch is same as the current outside the branches because
  • If two resistors in series are unequal and have Unequal values, then the total of two resistor ls called equivalent resistance.
  • RT is equal to the mathematical sum of the two resistances is same as R1 + R2 in series.

  • resistance of parallel series : 1 / Req = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 + 1 / R3 and resistor placed in parallel can be determined using the usual formula for equivalent resistance.

Note :- if you can identify series and parallel resistors you have formulae which able you to find the equivalent resistance.

Identify

  • Resistors are in parallel if their terminals are connected to the same two nodes like
  • this is in parallel resistance because the voltage across them is the same and so you can use the parallel equivalent formula with them.

Given

  • let R1 = 20Ω , R2 = 10Ω , R3 = 15Ω , R4 = 15Ω ,R5 = 30Ω are resistor of the current

Find

  • calculate the equivalent resistance.

Calculation

  • Put the : 1 / Req = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 + 1 / R3 in given values

we get ,

: 1 / Req = 1 / 20+ 1 / 10 + 1 / 15 + 1/15 + 1 / 30

1/ Req = 1/ 20 + 10 + 15 + 15 + 30

1 / Req = 1 / 90

Req = 90

The equivalent resistance is 90 Ω
