The answer is (d) 5 Ohm

Note that the intermediate nodes are shorted, thus creating two cascaded/series connections between nodes A and B. One of the cascaded connection has 4Ohm and 12 Ohm in parallel (thus effectively 3 Ohm) and the other has 6 Ohm and 3 Ohm in parallel (thus effectively 2Ohm). So total resistance is 3 + 2 = 5 Ohm.
