so 6 ohm resistance is of no use

then upper 3 ohm resistance is in series with their adjacent 3 ohm resistance so total resistance in ABC is 6 ohm

similarly in ADC it is 6 ohm

now Both 6 ohm resistance is in parallel so net resistance is 3 ohm
