6 ohms and 3 ohms are in parallel since current gets divided .

1/R = 1/6 + 1/3

= 1/R = ( 1 + 2 )/6

= 1/R = 3/6

= 1/R = 1/2

R = 2

Now this R and 2 ohms are in series .

Re = R + 2

= Re = 2 + 2

= Re = 4 ohms

ANSWER - 4 ohms
