Calculate the equivalent resistance of the network across the

Answer:

Both the 4 ohm resistances are are in series so the equivalent resistance will be 8 ohm (4+4).

Also both the 8 ohm resistances are also in series so equivalent resistance is 16 ohms (8+8).

Now the 16 ohm resistance and 8 ohm resistance (considering resistances from previous two lines) are in parallel. So equivalent resistance will be

 \frac{1}{8}  +  \frac{1}{16 } =  \frac{2 + 1}{16}  =  \frac{3}{16}

Now reciprocal of 3/16 is 16/3.

Finally the answers is 5.33 ohms
